Josie got it twice (Beware of GFP, and be aware of pressure)
Josephine LoRicco, post-doctoral fellow in M2E team, got a productive "week".
Her earlier PhD work in the laboratory of George I. Makhatadze (Makhatadze Lab, Dept. of Biological Sciences and Center for Biotechnology & Interdisciplinary Studies, at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, NY USA) just got published.
The paper got an excellent PNAS hit (Sequence-independent recognition of the amyloid structural motif by GFP protein family), and a merited highlight in Nature Methods. Please take a look at the work directly: if you are working on amyloid fibrillogenesis, we will appreciate if for sure. And if you are a plain (or student) scientist, we will again make profit of the role of serendipity inscientif research. Which is: never garbage weird results before (controlling, and...) understanding it !
Her PhD was defended on March 14, 2019, and entitled: "BIOPHYSICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF SEMINAL AMYLOID FIBRILS: INTERACTIONS WITH GALLIC ACID AND GREEN FLUORESCENT PROTEIN". You will easily see the lineage between this and the recent PNAS paper.
On the top of this, Josie and many members of the M2E team (as well as their Grenoble ILL collaborators) got a new work published, and well published again.
